Atkins Academy

Based in Ilford, Redbridge, Atkins Academy is a new specialist mentoring and education provider working with young black people to raise aspirations, maximise potential and create opportunities for success.

We aim to provide a holistic programme specifically, but not exclusively, for young black people aged 14 – 19 and their families. It includes counselling, life coaching, mentoring, anger management, problem solving, Skills for Life, Key Skills, vocational training, employability skills, job search and work placements. With a focus on the Every Child Matters Framework and our ethos of  inclusion, inspiration and involvement, our programme is designed to give young people a real chance to succeed in life. Although our main target group is in the Redbridge borough, the programme is open to young people from across London.

We also offer a range of programmes for adults and we are about to launch an eLearning programme. All members of the Academy get discounts on all our courses and services.

We are currently working towards City & Guilds accreditation and are hoping to be a registered, Ofsted regulated Independent School by September 2009.
